Halo 3 outshines Killzone 2

Killzone’s 2 performances in the market was not a flop but it was not spectacular either. This PS3 exclusive’s sales of 677,000 copies have been overshadowed by the brilliant performance of Xbox 360 exclusive Halo 3.
Killzone got off at the right foot bagging slot no.5 with sales of 323,000 copies even though it was launched quite late in February. Unfortunately it ranked a couple of rungs lower by March, after its sales dipped to only 296,000. Even Sony felt it was selling like hotcakes during its first week but its success was pretty much short-lived.
It’s still hard to figure out what went wrong since Killzone 2 is really such a great game that it managed to attract a hefty investment of 40 millions euros. Its performance is not really bad but with everything it had going for it, everybody sort of expected it to hit the ceilings with a sale of about a million copies I don’t understand why Official Xbox Magazine seems to be pleased with the news, even going as far as suggesting that it has given much comfort to the Xbox owners because even if it’s already on its 20th month it’s still giving Killzone 2 a run for its money. I find it really disturbing that some people have started looking at games in terms of the system that it’s on, rather than regarding it on the basis of its real worth. What the heck is going on here?
