EA to Release Need for Speed Game This Year – Expect Disappointment

That beautiful interior shot you see there is taken in game from a Pagani Zonda, a car I would have never imagined to see in a Need for Speed title. I was surprised when Carbon featured a Koenigsegg much to my surprise even more so being before the car even reached mainstream for being wrecked by the Stig on Top Gear and then disappointed almost immediately right after the race began and my friend beat my Koenigsegg with his Mazda 3 (nope, sorry – I don’t care how many stickers you have, it doesn’t work that way). Point is their giving the super car thing a try again and I expect them to do it terribly wrong all over again.
Need for Speed SHIFT (I wonder how much their paying Nissan for that) will be their next title release and we should expect to have it by fall of 09. Ea says that the game will be the perfect racing sim and will feature high-end cars. EA doing a racing sim… really? Much to my surprise some of the dev team comes from GTR2 which is to date in my opinion the closest thing to perfect racing simulation there is. We will have to wait and see just how good this game will be.
