The 3rd Birthday

For those of you who are Parasite Eve fans you’ll be happy to hear that there will be a third installment to the series.This same game was previously announced at a Square Enix event in 2007 as a mobile phone title, But a few things have changed since then and during the latest Tokyo Game Show , it was confirmed that the game will be exclusively coming to the PSP. Not much is known about the game at this point other than it is a spin-off that still maintains the series protagonist. There aren’t too many plot details save for the scant few we have for you after the jump.

Storyline

On yet another Christmas Eve, Aya and the other members of the New York Branch of the Counter-Terrorist Intelligence are called to their headquarters to respond to an outbreak of attacks in Manhattan that is being caused by creatures going by the name of Twisted. These creatures originated from a mysterious time contortion.

Motomu Toriyama, the scenario director, thought it best to keep Aya in her 20’s as a result of her parasite powers. This idea spawned from his feelings towards how the players might loose focus on a woman who’s in her mid 30’s. Keeping Aya in her 20’s will help depict the cognitive lifestyle of a more appealing woman.

The trailer reveals  details like the the return of Kyle Mandigan, the U.S. Government agent from the second game. Also in the trailer Aya’s eyes hint at the possibility of the return of Parasite Powers.

The release date has yet to be anounced. =(
