Dragon Quest X Announced For The Wii, Japan Explodes

At the Square Enix Press conference in Tokyo today Yuji Horii, the creator of of Dragon Quest and a god among its fans, announced that the next iteration of the series is already in development and will be heading for the Wii.
This is fine news for fans of all things RPG and even better news for those of us with Wii who have nearly forgotten it exists. It’s about time that as a gamer i can get excited about a game again for the Wii, its been so long and its cold blue glow has been growing dimmer and dimmer.
There is no word on a release date or even weather or not Level 5, the team responsible for Dragon Quest VIII and who are currently working on Dragon Quest IX along with many of thier own games, will be taking the reins again. My gut tells me they wont be and that makes me a bit sad, they did a fantastic job on VIII and it would be a shame if the same care to detail and quality wasnt put forth for this entry. We’ll keep you posted if any such details arise, so keep checking back.
