No Warhammer Expansions Untill Core Game Is “Just Right”

Over at VN Boards after a few pages on some features and what have you that the Warhammer community would like to see added into the game via expansions and updates Mythic’s Mark Jacobs interrupted the discussion with a bit of incite. The development team as of right now has decided to put off any work being done on an Expansion pack to the game in order to refine and fine-tune the core game of WAR to make sure its clean of bugs and balanced justly for players to enjoy. After the jump we have a Direct Quote from the post from Jacobs. He states,
Folks,
Just so you know, we haven’t begun work on an XPack yet and aren’t going to until we get a lot more done in WAR. The expansion can wait a little longer but the main game can’t. We are not pushing an XPack out the door at the expense of WAR. And once we begin work on an XPack, it’s going to take us quite a while to do it. We’re still at the talking stages and while we think we have some rather interesting ideas, it’s not time yet to even go to GW to get their blessing.
I think this is a real class move by Mythic and shows the teams dedicated standards of quality. Move developers could do well to emulate them and their practices (I’m looking at you Blizzard!). I would rather spend a little more time waiting on big content add-on’s while get to play a tight core game instead of a buggy game with more buggy content being stapled onto it. I’ll roll an Alt while i wait for the good old stuff. One more thing, Jacobs goes on to say, in regards to the inference’s towards what kind of content the expansions might be receiving,
FYI, as I’ve said even during early development, I’m a big fan of the Vampire Counts…
Also, some of you folks have hit on a few of the same things we’ve talked about at Mythic.
Mark
Sounds great to me, i hear vampires are big right now.
